when the whole world is expressing their views on this contentious issue of reprinting the offensive cartoons for the Muslims our god forsaken country or atleast our leaders do not seem to register that anything at all is happening. there is no talk in the media and not even a shrug from an official's shoulder... from jewish indiscriminate terrorism in Palestine to the danish cartoon terrorism to the never ending American war on Islam the whole world is abound with things to be done to the Muslims but here in out country nobody seems to take notice. its true that we are a small country and yet being small does not mean we shall be indifferent to pain and suffering. it hurts to the the core when our own brothers and sisters in faraway places are killed and our beloved prophet's memory is insulted but who cares? certainly not the present regime or the cronies of this regime who are too dumb to be able to read news and issues i guess. we the masses, the majority of this country do care about these issues and yet we are constantly kept in the dark and the only thing they care about is their own positions and welfare. the same corrupt story the world over.
but i refuse to believe that this shall be so. that change cannot happen. i believe it will happen and that we can make it happen. to be a responsible person one does not have to hold important government positions. but one does have to have a conscience. some sense of morals and values and a love for justice. these are all fine and good qualities which can be found anywhere in the globe but mostly in books and in print. but these are also very easy to implement and bring about change to wherever change was needed.
Islam is constantly being attacked by the kuffar without provocation even here in Maldives. We Muslims need to realize this and act on this. Knowledge is the way to counter this war. We need to educate ourselves on Islam and defend Islam from slander by the kuffar. Their problem is lack of knowledge. The more they know about Islam, the more they are drawn to the straight path.
